Cohen Gallery sending portion of sales to Appalachian region hit by Hurricane Helene

Alfred University’s arts community continues to rally in support of artists recovering from Hurricane Helene.

During the months of November and December, 30 percent of the profits from all purchases at the Cohen Gallery will go to support the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+) to continue to help artists in the southern Appalachian region.

In October, Alfred University’s School of Art & Design and Scholes Library hosted a fundraiser to support the artists and craftspeople of Western North Carolina. The region has deep ties to craft traditions that have inspired many within the School of Art & Design and vice versa.

Hurricane Helene devastated swaths of the region, uprooting art communities in cities such as Ashville, NC.
